Kolkata, July 15 (HS). The sky will remain cloudy for the next 24 hours in the entire state including the capital of West Bengal, Kolkata, and there is a possibility of rain with thunder. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33˚C and 28˚C respectively. This information has been given in a statement issued by the Meteorological Department on Monday. It has been told that during the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature in Kolkata was recorded at 33.6˚C, which was 0.8˚C more than normal, while the minimum temperature was 27.2˚C, which was 0.2˚C more than normal. During this period, the maximum humidity was 94 percent and the minimum humidity was 67 percent. During the last 24 hours, 18.4 mm of rain was recorded in the capital Kolkata.
The weather will remain mixed in other districts of the state as well. Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura and other South Bengal districts will remain cloudy and light to moderate rain may occur at many places. The sky will remain cloudy in the districts of North Bengal as well and thundershowers are likely at some places. Alipurdurwar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong in North Bengal are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains continuously for the entire week.
Farmers in the state have been advised to plan their agricultural activities keeping in mind the weather forecast.
