attack on manipur police : A shocking incident has come to light in Jiribam district of Manipur. Here a joint patrol team along with the police was attacked by suspected terrorists. In the attack, a constable of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was martyred while a police commando was injured. At present a search operation is being carried out.
Manipur police officials say that suspected militants opened heavy fire on a joint patrol team in the district bordering Assam. During that time, CRPF jawans were approaching the SUV patrolling on foot, when the suspected terrorists opened fire. The police officer said that we also retaliated. After which the terrorists managed to escape from the spot by taking the help of the forest. At present, the police search operation is going on.
Chief Minister strongly condemned the attack by Kuki terrorists
Meanwhile, the state's Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has given his reaction on the attack on the police. He said, I strongly condemn the killing of a CRPF jawan in an attack by a suspected armed group of Kuki terrorists in Jiribam district today.
He further said that his great sacrifice in the path of duty will not go in vain. The Chief Minister said that I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased soldier and also pray for the speedy recovery of those injured during the attack.
Violence continues in Manipur for one year
