In the Bastar Gocha Mahaparva, on the Dashami Tithi of the Ashadh Shukla Paksha, on July 15, Lord Jagannath Swami will return to the temple from the Gundicha Mandir-Sirhasar Bhawan, mounted on a chariot, along with the Bahuda Gocha Rath Yatra Puja Vidhan. In the temple, the idols of Lord Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Balabhadra Swami will be removed as per the tradition of the Puja Vidhan. After that, in the Kapat Fedha Puja Vidhan, after the Laxmi-Narayan dialogue, Lord Jagannath Swami will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple till the upcoming Gocha festival. The devotees will also perform the tradition of saluting Lord Jagannath Swami by firing a Tupki, the most unique identity of Bastar Gocha, during the Bahuda Gocha Rath Yatra.
Like every year, this year too, 360 ghar Aranyak Brahmin Samaj conducted the mass Upanayana ceremony of 6 boys on Sunday in which 1. Priyanshu Pandey, Titirgaon 2. Yuvraj Pandey, Titirgaon 3. Ashish Padhi Karamri 4. Gaurav Panigrahi Asana 5. Thabir Panigrahi, Talur 6. Trinayan Joshi Kondawal's Upanayana ceremony was conducted. It is worth mentioning that the tradition of mass Upanayana ceremony was started 15 years ago during the Bastar Gaoncha festival by the founder president of the society, Late Mohan Prasad Panigrahi, which is being carried out even today by his son Late Umeshchandra Panigrahi and after that by his sons Uttam Panigrahi and Hemant Panigrahi.
Earlier, as per the scheduled programme of Bastar Gocha festival, on 7th July, with Shri Gocha Rath Yatra Pooja Vidhan, the idols of Lord Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Balabhadra Swami were placed on the chariot and after the completion of the Rath Yatra, they were installed in the Gudicha Temple-Sirhasar Bhawan as per the princely era tradition, where devotees have been reaching Gudicha Temple-Sirhasar Bhawan for the past one week to have darshan of Lord Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Balabhadra Swami. At the last stop of Bastar Gocha Mahaparva, on 8th July, the devotees from 16 villages of Karitgaon area, as per the centuries old tradition of the princely era, offered the last Amaniya Bhog to Lord Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Balabhadra Swami. On 15th July, with the Bahuda Gocha Rathyatra Puja Vidhan, the Bastar Gocha festival will conclude for the coming year. After the Devshayani Ekadashi Puja Vidhan on 17th July, all wedding ceremonies will come to a halt until Devuthani Ekadashi.
President of 360 Ghar Aranyak Brahmin Samaj, Ishwar Khambari, said that Bastar is moving towards the completion of the Gocha Mahaparva, under which Lord Jagannath Swami will return to the temple on July 15 with the Bahuda Gocha Rath Yatra Puja Vidhan, where after the Kapat Fedha Puja Vidhan Lakshmi-Narayan Samvad, Lord Jagannath Swami will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple till the upcoming Gocha festival. Today, on Sunday, during the Bastar Gocha festival, Brahmins of 360 Ghar Aranyak Brahmin Samaj of 16 villages of Karitgaon area offered the last Amaniya Bhog to Lord Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Balabhadra Swami. Along with this, today Uttam Panigrahi and Hemant Panigrahi of Panigrahi family, carrying forward the tradition of collective Upanayan Sanskar started by their ancestors, contributed in completing the Upanayan Sanskar of 6 boys.
