In response to this, Rahul Gandhi said, 'I have always believed that women can wear whatever they want. They have full rights and authority. It completely depends on the women what they want to wear.

While sharing the video, Youth Congress wrote on Instagram, 'Hijab, hostel and stake!' An interesting discussion took place on education, rights and expression with students at Aligarh Muslim University. It is our duty to bring the women of India into the mainstream by making them aware of their economic, social and political rights and the need for a progressive India.

Let us tell you that recently there was a controversy in Rajasthan regarding the wearing of hijab by government school students. State School Education Minister Madan Dilawar has warned of strict action wherever the dress code is not followed. Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham said students should not come to school wearing 'weird clothes'.

Earlier, BJP MLAs Hawamahal and Balmukund Acharya had objected to girls wearing hijab in government schools, after which Cabinet Minister Kirori Lal Meena had said that he will talk to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to ban hijab. All government and private schools in the state will have to agree to this.
