G7 Summit: An important meeting of the G-7 countries is going to be held in Italy next week. During this, the G-7 countries can shower money for investment in India. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will visit Reggio Calabria in Italy next week to attend a bilateral meeting with his counterparts from the G7 countries. An official statement said that during this time ways to promote trade and investment will be discussed. Reggio Calabria is a coastal city in southern Italy, where the meeting is to be held.
The G7, a group of seven industrialised nations, includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and the United States. According to the statement, the aim of these meetings is to explore new avenues of trade and investment, resolve bilateral trade issues and strengthen economic cooperation. Goyal will discuss this during the outreach session of the G7 Trade Ministers meeting in Italy (July 16-17). “During the visit, Goyal will also participate in bilateral meetings with trade ministers of G7 countries and other countries participating in the outreach session.”

According to the statement, this will strengthen India's commitment to global trade and investment partnerships, during which Goyal will talk about the trade and investment opportunities available in India. The ministry said Goyal will be in Switzerland on July 14-15 before his visit to Italy to discuss the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA).
