Retail inflation rate (CPI) growth is expected to increase to 5.08 percent in June 2024. In comparison, retail inflation growth stood at 4.75 percent in May. On a month-on-month basis, core inflation remained unchanged at 3.1 percent in June.
On a month-on-month basis, the food inflation rate has increased from 8.69 percent to 9.36 percent in June. On a month-on-month basis, the vegetable inflation rate has increased from 27.33 percent to 29.32 percent in June.
On a month-on-month basis, rural inflation has increased from 5.28 per cent to 5.66 per cent in June. On a month-on-month basis, urban inflation has increased from 4.15 per cent to 4.39 per cent in June.
On a month-on-month basis, fuel and electricity inflation has increased from -3.83 percent to -3.66 percent in June. Housing inflation has increased from 2.56 percent to 2.69 percent in June on a month-on-month basis.
On a month-on-month basis, the inflation rate of clothes and shoes in June has come down from 2.74 percent to 2.73 percent. On a month-on-month basis, the inflation rate of pulses in June has come down from 17.14 percent to 16.07 percent.
