Dhamtari, July 13 (HS). The 20th Chhattisgarh State Taekwondo Championship was organized by Chhattisgarh Taekwondo Association in Raigarh from July 5 to 7, in which 10 players from Dhamtari district also participated. Dhamtari received three medals in the state level Taekwondo competition. Vivek Maitrey from Sambalpur reached the finals by defeating his opponent Kishan Kashyap in the senior category 58 kg and got the silver medal by securing the second position.
In the cadet category, Ishan Dewangan made it to the finals by defeating all his opponents and won the silver medal. Similarly, Namrata from Dhamtari won the silver medal in the 55 kg category. Dhamtari Taekwondo Association President Ajay Babar, Secretary Omkar Lal Patel, Principal Shailendra Tarar, Sarpanch Rajesh Chandrakar, Tarendra Chandrakar, Bharat Lal Dhurru, Dhruv, Chunnu Dhruv, Sevak Ram Chandravanshi and the residents of the area have congratulated the players on their success.
