Varanasi, July 13 (HS). 48th Battalion Sonbhadra captured the trophy in the final match of the four-day 28th PAC Eastern Zone Inter Corps Football Competition on Saturday. The final match, hosted by 34th Battalion PAC, Bhullanpur, Varanasi, was played between 48th Battalion PAC Sonbhadra and 34th Battalion Bhullanpur. In which 48th Battalion Sonbhadra showed its supremacy and won the match 1-0. The winning team was given the Chal Baijanti Shield.
Battalion Bhullanpur was the runner-up. Competition organizing secretary, commander, 34th Battalion PAC Varanasi Pankaj Pandey awarded medals to the teams and players who performed best at the battalion parade ground. A total of 180 players from 10 different battalions of Uttar Pradesh PAC Eastern Zone (4th Battalion, 12th, 20th, 33rd, 34th, 36th, 37th, 39th, 42nd and 48th battalions) participated in this four-day competition. Assistant commander Naresh Singh Yadav, Camp Commander Ajay Pratap Singh, Dal Nayak Brijesh Rai, Badan Yadav, Assistant Camp Commander Munni Lal, Subedar Major Gopal ji Dubey etc were also present during the decoration ceremony.
