Many cases resolved through mutual understanding

Jodhpur, July 13 (HS). As per the instructions of National Legal Services Authority, Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority and Rajasthan High Court Legal Services Committee Jodhpur, this year's second National Lok Adalat was organized in the courts subordinate to the High Court and Jodhpur Metropolitan Judicial Area. Many cases were settled through mutual understanding in the Lok Adalats.

Aziz Khan, Secretary of Rajasthan High Court Legal Services Committee, informed that Lok Adalat was organised under the guidance of committee's chairman and senior judge Pushpendra Singh Bhati. Pending cases which were negotiable in Lok Adalat and pre-litigation cases related to money recovery and other departments were identified in the Lok Adalat. Separate benches were constituted for settlement of the identified cases in the spirit of National Lok Adalat. Five benches were constituted in the High Court. In these benches, Justice of Rajasthan High Court was appointed as chairman and advocates as members.

In all these benches, about three thousand cases pending in the High Court for a long time were kept. At the same time, Lok Adalat was organized in the lower court under the direction of District Legal Services Authority Chairman and District and Sessions Justice Chandra Shekhar Sharma. District Legal Services Authority Jodhpur Metropolitan Secretary Pukhraj Gehlot said that in the National Lok Adalat, about 38572 cases pending in the courts which were eligible for compromise till July 9 and 15066 cases of money recovery in pre-litigation, 4082 cases of disputes related to electricity, water, mobile, credit card and bill payment and 15334 cases related to various welfare schemes being run by the state government for registered construction workers were identified. Nine benches were constituted for settlement of cases in the lower court.

Couple living separately for two and a half years reunited

A couple got married in 2015 in a community mass marriage conference. After this, a son was born in the year 2019, but in 2022, the husband and wife quarreled over some family matter. The wife went to her parental home in the year 2022. Three months after going to her parental home, she filed a complaint in the family court. Both were living separately for two and a half years. In the Lok Adalat, the bench of Justice Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit settled the case by counselling.

Many cases were settled in consumer court

During the National Lok Adalat, nine cases each were kept in the District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission I and II. The Chairman of the bench constituted here, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Pukhraj Gehlot and Member Advocate Ashok Kumar Joshi disposed of a total of 7 cases of the District Commission I and passed an award amount of Rs. 2287798. While 9 cases of District Commission II were disposed of and an award amount of Rs. 469794 was passed, providing relief to the consumers. During this, Court Reader of District Commission I, Resham Bala was assisted by Arman Khan, Bhanvarlal Meghwal, Narendra Kumar Samariya, Bhagirath Chaudhari, Narendra Kumar and Raveena Gehlot.
