Dehradun, July 13 (HS). The academic calendar issued by the government will be implemented compulsorily in all higher educational institutions under higher education in the state. For this, instructions have been given to the officials of the Directorate of Higher Education as well as all the state universities. Higher officials have been directed to remove the obstacles coming in the admission process through Samarth Portal.
Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat held a meeting of the Higher Education Department at his official residence in Yamuna Colony on Saturday. In the meeting, he reviewed the implementation of one admission, one examination, one result, one election and one convocation. He directed the Vice Chancellors of universities and the Director of Higher Education to implement the academic calendar issued by the state government in all higher educational institutions. He also asked the university administration to declare the exam results soon and complete the admission process within the stipulated time.
The minister said that the problems being faced in declaring the exam results and completing the admission process through the Samarth portal will be resolved soon. For this, he directed the senior officials of the government to take immediate action on the spot. He said that along with education in higher educational institutions, attention should also be paid to other social aspects along with the formation of NCC, NSS, Rover Rangers so that the youth have better knowledge of education based on moral and social values along with quality education. The departmental minister called for planting 20 saplings in each educational institution on the folk festival Harela.
A policy will be made for the operation of private coaching centers
The state government will prepare a new policy for the operation of private coaching centres in the state. For this, an in-principle agreement has been reached in a meeting with the officials of the Higher Education Department and School Education. Soon, a meeting will be held with stakeholders and suggestions will be taken from them, so that the interests of both students and coaching operators can be protected.
The Higher Education Minister held a detailed discussion with the officials in the meeting of the Higher Education Department today regarding the implementation of the guidelines issued by the Higher Education Department, Ministry of Education, Government of India for the regulation of coaching centers in the state. He informed that the officials, educationists and administrative officials associated with the Higher Education Department have agreed to implement the said Act in Uttarakhand as well. Under which a registration authority will be nominated at the district level for the registration of private coaching centers. Apart from this, an appellate authority will also be constituted at the district level to resolve any dispute. Also, a regulatory body will also be constituted in each district, which will visit the private coaching institutes and test the prescribed standards and submit its report to the registration authority. Only after that the concerned center will be registered. In this regard, a proposal will be prepared by the Higher Education Department and will be presented to the State Cabinet soon.

Uniyal and other departmental officers were present in the meeting, while Vice Chancellors of all state universities joined the meeting through virtual medium.
