PM Modi on Mumbai tour today, will inaugurate projects in the evening

New Delhi, July 13 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the country's economic capital Mumbai (Maharashtra) today. During this, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate many projects. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has shared a brief description of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mumbai visit on X. Also, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Government of India has provided detailed information about the program in a press release.

According to a PIB release, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Nesco Exhibition Center in Goregaon at around 5:30 pm. Here he will inaugurate and dedicate several projects related to road, railway and port sector worth more than Rs 29,400 crore to the nation and will also lay the foundation stone of many projects.

PM Modi will then visit the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Secretariat at G-Block, Bandra Kurla Complex at around 7 pm and inaugurate the INS Towers. PM will lay the foundation stone of the Thane-Borivali Tunnel Project costing Rs 16,600 crore. This twin tube tunnel between Thane and Borivali will pass under the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. It will provide direct connectivity between Western Express Highway on Borivali side and Thane Ghodbunder Road on Thane side. The total length of the project is 11.8 km. It will reduce the journey from Thane to Borivali by 12 km and save about one hour in travel time.

According to the release, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the tunnel construction work under the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) project. Its cost is more than Rs 6300 crore. GMLR envisages road connectivity from Western Express Highway in Goregaon to Eastern Express Highway in Mulund. The total length of GMLR is about 6.65 km and it will provide direct connectivity to the new proposed airport in Navi Mumbai and the western suburbs along with the Pune Mumbai Expressway.

PM Narendra Modi will also lay the foundation stone of Kalyan Yard Re-modelling and Gati Shakti Multi Modal Cargo Terminal at Turbhe in Navi Mumbai. Kalyan Yard will help in separating long distance and suburban traffic. Re-modelling will increase the capacity of the yard and allow more trains to be parked. This will reduce congestion and improve the efficiency of train operations. Gati Shakti Multi Modal Cargo Terminal in Navi Mumbai will be built in an area of ​​more than 32600 square meters. It will provide additional employment opportunities to the local people and will serve as an additional terminal to store cement and other commodities.

PM Modi will dedicate to the nation new platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and extension of platform numbers 10 and 11 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station. The new longer platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus will allow longer trains to stand, allowing more passengers to board each train and improving the station's capacity to handle increasing traffic. Platform numbers 10 and 11 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station have been extended to 382 metres with covered sheds and washable aprons. This will help increase the number of passengers in trains by up to 24 coaches.

Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also launch the Chief Minister Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana costing about Rs 5600 crore. It is a transformational internship program. It aims to address youth unemployment by providing opportunities for skill development and industry experience to youth in the age group of 18 to 30 years. According to the release, the Prime Minister will also visit the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Secretariat at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai to inaugurate the INS Towers. The new building will meet the growing needs of INS members for modern and efficient office space in Mumbai. It will also serve as the control center of the newspaper industry in Mumbai.
