Dehradun, July 12 (HS). The weather is changing every moment in Uttarakhand. In such a situation, there is a need to be more cautious in sensitive areas. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has advised the pilgrims going to Chardham and the people in landslide affected areas to be extra cautious. Along with this, a yellow alert has been issued for lightning and heavy rain with thunder till July 16.
These days, the humid heat in Doon is making life miserable amidst the monsoon showers, but the spell of intense showers is also continuing. There is light rainfall in some places in the mountainous regions as well. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy to very heavy rainfall in the lower regions of the state in the next four days. Whereas, there are chances of moderate rainfall in the mountainous regions as well.
The rain has slowed down in Uttarakhand, but heavy rain is continuing in some places in Kumaon. After two days of humid heat in Doon, heavy rain fell on Thursday night, providing relief from humidity to a great extent. The clouds have been playing hide and seek since Friday morning. However, according to the Meteorological Department, the weather is eager to wreak havoc in Uttarakhand in the month of July.
Director of Meteorological Center Dr. Bikram Singh has issued a 'yellow' alert for heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning across the state till July 16. The Meteorological Department has also warned of damage to gardens, horticulture and standing crops, partial damage to weak structures, minor damage to kutcha houses and huts due to strong winds and rain, disruption of traffic and waterlogging in low-lying areas.
