Kolkata: Huge fire in T-shirt factory, 20 fire engines at the spot

Kolkata, July 12 (HS). A massive fire broke out in a T-shirt factory located on Yashor Road near Nagerbazar in Dumdum area of ​​Kolkata on Friday. 20 fire engines are present at the spot to extinguish the fire. The entire area is filled with smoke. It is a matter of relief that no employee is trapped in the factory. Everyone has been taken to a safe place.

According to local sources, this factory is located right near Sarojini Naidu College. There is also a warehouse of a private ice cream company near the factory, where the sound of explosion was heard first. After this flames of fire were seen. The initial estimate of the fire officials is that the fire started from the AC unit and gradually spread to the factory. On receiving information about the fire, the fire brigade team reached the spot at around 3:40 am and started extinguishing the fire.

According to the fire department, 20 vehicles are working to control the fire. Local people are also helping the firefighters. Near the factory where the fire broke out, there is also a marriage hall, a medicine warehouse, a furniture warehouse and another T-shirt factory. Due to the presence of mostly flammable materials in these warehouses, the risk of fire spreading has increased.

The fire brigade says that they have been trying to douse the fire since 3:40 pm and all efforts are on to control the fire. The local administration is also keeping an eye on the situation and is prepared to deal with any untoward incident.
