Ranchi, July 12 (HS). After the death of Lalita Oraon, an elderly woman of Harchanda village of Ormanjhi, Ranchi, hundreds of tribals gheraoed the Ormanjhi police station on Friday. The deceased's husband Sikandar Oraon said that there was a dispute going on in the clan regarding land division. Section 144 was imposed on the land. Despite this, people of the other party started working on the farm. When the first party protested, the other party beat them up fiercely.
The woman was attacked with sticks. Lalita suffered serious head injuries due to this. She was undergoing treatment at RIMS. The woman died during treatment. Her relatives complained to the police. But when no action was taken, the angry people reached the police station. The people surrounded the police station premises and raised slogans against the administration. On the other hand, Karan Karketta has appealed for justice by submitting an application to the SSP, Rural SP and City SP. Along with this, he has also accused Basant Karmali and six other named persons of illegally occupying the land and killing by beating.
