People will be made aware of Namami Gange scheme by planting trees: DDC

Ramgarh, July 12 (HS). A tree plantation program will be organized in the district to make people aware of the Namami Gange scheme. This program will be held at different places for a week in the month of July and people will be informed about the work being done under the Namami Gange scheme. Deputy Development Commissioner Robin Toppo said this in the meeting of the District Ganga Committee on Friday.

During the meeting, the Deputy Development Commissioner first took information about the works done in the light of the instructions given in the previous meeting of the District Ganga Committee from the District Planning Officer Namami Gange Yojana Chandan Kumar and other members of the committee. After this, to create awareness about the objective of Namami Gange Yojana, the Deputy Development Commissioner directed the committee members to select one week in this month and celebrate it as Tree Plantation Week. Along with this, he directed to celebrate Tree Plantation Week by establishing coordination with the district and block offices, CCL, TISCO, Jindal, etc. organizations. Along with this, with the objective of making children aware about environmental protection, he directed to select a Ganga Mitra in all the government schools and colleges of the district.

During the meeting, District Planning Officer Sameer Kullu, District Public Relations Officer Dr. Prabhat Shankar and other members of the committee were present.
