Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court gave an important verdict on the interior of Gyanvapi, popularly known as Vyasji's room, and said that worship can continue there. Along with this, the High Court rejected the application of the Muslim side. Therefore now the Muslim side has decided to go to the Supreme Court.
It is noteworthy that some time ago, the Varanasi District and Sessions Judge had given permission to the Hindu side to worship in the room of Vyasji known as 'Dhyankhand'. After this the Muslim side went to the High Court. But after the High Court rejected the application of the Muslim side, now the Muslim side wants to go to the Supreme Court.
A bench of Justice Ranjan Aggarwal of the Allahabad High Court heard the appeal filed by 'Anjuman-Intejamia Masjid Committee', the organization that manages the Gyanvapi Masjid, but reserved its decision. In this case, Hindu side's lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain said, today Allahabad High Court has rejected both the petitions of Anjuman Arrangement. This means that the puja which was going on, will continue in the same way. If they go to the Supreme Court.
In 1993, entry into the barricaded area of the Gyanvapi campus was banned. After that no worship took place in Vyasji's meditation room. The Hindu side claimed that worship was held here even during the British rule. There are also Hindu worship materials and many ancient sculptures. Apart from this, there are other things of religious importance also. A room in the Gyanvapi complex is called Dhyankhand. This room is occupied by the 'Vyas' family, which claims to be the descendants of Ved Vyas, and is located on the southern side of the Gyanvapi complex. In the petition presented in the court, it was said that till 1993, his elder Somnath Vyas used to worship there, but since the (SP) government stopped the worship there, worship cannot be done here.
