Harpreet Singh, brother of pro-Khalistan MP Amritpal Singh, has been arrested with drugs from Phillor Highway in Jalandhar, Punjab. Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh came into the limelight by running a campaign against drugs. However, Harpreet Singh came under police surveillance during a blockade on Phillor Highway. Police seized four grams of drugs from Amritpal Singh's brother and took further action.
Police took help of videography
The police also got the entire incident videographed. Both of them were caught during a blockade on the Phillor highway. According to an officer, information is being gathered about where the seized drugs came from. After the arrest of Harpreet Singh, a medical examination was conducted which revealed that he was under the influence of drugs. Therefore, the arrest was made with sufficient evidence.
Amritpal got parole to take oath as MP
Amritpal Singh, who is serving a sentence in Dibrugarh jail in Assam and is the newly elected MP from Khadoor Sahib seat, was granted four days parole by the court to take oath as MP. In the recently held Lok Sabha elections, Amritpal Singh won from Khadoor Sahib by more than one lakh votes.
