Traveling in reserved coaches with waiting tickets is now completely banned

Indian Railways has implemented new rules from July 1, taking strict measures regarding traveling on waiting tickets in trains, under which traveling in reserved coaches on waiting tickets has been completely banned.

This means that those whose tickets are in waiting list cannot travel in AC or sleeper coaches, even if they have bought tickets offline from the station counter. TT can charge a fine of Rs 440 from those traveling in reserved coaches on waiting tickets and transfer them to general coaches or make them disembark mid-way. Railways received thousands of complaints that passengers with confirmed tickets were inconvenienced due to the crowd of passengers with waiting tickets in reserved coaches.

Before July 1, the rule of the Railways was that if a passenger buys a ticket from the counter, he can also travel in the reserved coach. In case of AC waiting ticket, in AC coach and in case of sleeper waiting ticket, in sleeper coach. However, earlier travel was banned if waiting was on tickets purchased online.
