Mumbai: The mystery of a father-son duo living at Bhayander railway station near Mumbai committing suicide by jumping under a train while holding each other's hands remains unsolved even after three days. Initially, it was suspected that the father-son duo committed suicide due to debt after losses in the stock market, but the daughter-in-law has denied that there is any debt or any financial conflict or social conflict in the family. Now the police are trying to get any clue about the cause of suicide from various sources.
The suicide video of 33-year-old Jai Mehta and his 60-year-old father Harish Mehta, who live in Rashmi Divya Society in Vasant Nagari area of Vasai, has gone viral. Both father and son reached Bhayander station at around 11 pm on Monday night, talking quietly in the extreme cold of college. After the work on platform number six was completed, they got down on the tracks and holding each other's hands jumped under the train going towards Churchgate.
Later, the police found a note from his house. In which the father-son have written a text which means that we are responsible for our own actions, no one else is to be blamed. However, the reason for the suicide could not be clarified from this.
Harish Mehta used to work in the stock market but retired. His son Jai Mehta works in a company in Lower Parel while daughter-in-law Anjali Mehta works in a private company in Andheri.
Anjali was deeply shocked by this incident. Initially the police could not take her statement. Later Anjali told the police that she called the father and son several times, but neither of them answered the phone. Finally she called the neighbors but they said that the house was locked. Later she came to know about the last stage of her husband Essar.
Anjali has rejected speculations of losses in the stock market or debt. Anjali told the police that the family has no debt. The financial condition of the family is not bad at all. There is no social discord in the house.
It is worth noting that Harish Mehta's wife has already passed away. Jai and Anjali had an inter-caste marriage just a year ago.

On Monday, the bodies of both of them were torn into pieces when the train passed over them. The police conducted the post-mortem on Monday itself. He was identified on the basis of his Aadhar card.
