Foreign students in India: On one hand, the number of students from our country going abroad to study is increasing year after year, on the other hand, the number of students coming from abroad to study in India has decreased.
There is no doubt that India's civilization, culture and beliefs still have a distinct reputation at the global level, but this reputation is not visible in the field of education. It is not that there are no good institutions in the country, yet why do foreigners not want to come here to study. Let us try to find out.
The number of foreign students decreased
The report of the All India Survey on Higher Education states that the number of students coming to India in the year 2020-21 has decreased by 2.6 percent as compared to 2019-20. Out of about 49 thousand students, only 48 thousand remained the next year. A report also says that there are very few foreign students now.
no basic amenities
If compared to the level of other countries, the standard of living, location of facilities, facilities, research etc. are not such that they can attract foreigners. It is not that there are no high level institutions in the country but their number is limited. Except institutions like IIT, IIM, AIIMS (where admission is very difficult), there are very few institutions in the country that can attract foreign students with their quality.
No placements
When foreign students go to study in any country, after completing their studies, companies hire them and they also get good placements. It is the student's choice whether he wants to work abroad or not. Lack of placement after studies is also a problem due to which foreigners do not want to come here.
Other good options
If some special things inherent in India like Yoga, Vedas, study of Puranas, study of culture are removed then other countries have better facilities in other fields. If they want to study any other subject (which is not included in the specialty of India), then they prefer to go to USA, UK, Canada, Australia etc. instead of India.
