Lucknow, July 11 (HS). Uttar Pradesh's Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Agricultural Export, Dinesh Pratap Singh reached Avadh Shilp Gram Lucknow on Thursday to review the preparations for the Mango Festival. He directed the concerned officials to take special care of the farmers, exporters and other special guests coming to the Mango Festival, so that they do not face any kind of inconvenience. The Horticulture Minister also inspected the stalls set up for the Mango Festival. He said that special species of mango should be mentioned on the stalls, so that people coming to the stall can get information about the special species of mango and their characteristics.

Dinesh Pratap Singh has appealed to the farmers and general public to come to the Mango Festival and enjoy the different varieties of mangoes and also take advantage of the seminar organized with the aim of giving special information to the farmers in the field of mango production. He informed that an attractive exhibition of different varieties of mangoes and their products has been organized. Apart from Uttar Pradesh, farmers, gardeners, stakeholders, exporters from other states will also participate in the three-day Mango Festival. Encouragement to mango gardening will increase the income of the farmers. Uttar Pradesh holds a leading position in the production, processing, marketing, export and quality of mango.

The Horticulture Minister said that more than 800 varieties of mango will be showcased in Mango Festival-2024. About 1000 varieties of mango are being produced in the state, which mainly include Dussehri, Langra, Chaunsa, Gaurjeet, Amrapali, Ramkela, Rataul, Lucknow Safeda, Bombay Green and other colorful varieties. During this, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary Horticulture and Food Processing B.L. Meena, Director Horticulture Dr. V.B. Dwivedi and other officers were present.
