Jharkhand High Court bans removal of guest faculty of Ranchi University from job


Ranchi, July 11 (HS). The petition filed by the guest faculty of Ranchi University (RU) was heard in the Jharkhand High Court on Thursday. The court, while granting interim relief to the petitioners, has directed Ranchi University not to remove these guest faculty yet. The court has directed that the further process can be continued in the advertisement issued for the appointment of need-based assistant professors in Ranchi University. The next hearing of this case will be on August 1. The court has directed Ranchi University to file an affidavit in the matter.

A petition has been filed in the Jharkhand High Court on behalf of Ranchi University's guest faculty Arvind Kumar and others. They have said that Ranchi University is appointing need-based assistant professors on contract, advertisement for this has also been issued. After the appointment of need-based assistant professors, they will be removed from the job. They have requested the court to stop the process of appointment of assistant professors on contract. They have also told the court that they have not received daily wages (remuneration) for the last 14 months, they should be given their pending salary.
