Actually, the pension money of such a large number of pensioners is pending.
You get Rs 1,600 every month
According to the news, the Chief Minister said in the Assembly that every beneficiary (pensioner) in Kerala gets Rs 1,600 every month and at present five installments are pending. Vijayan said that two of them will be given in the financial year 2024-25 while the rest in 2025-26. The Chief Minister made a statement in this regard in the Assembly under Rule 300. The Chief Minister said that it is the responsibility of his government to ensure that there is proper distribution of welfare benefits among the eligible people, so it will distribute the outstanding amount on time.
Earlier the pension was Rs 600 per month
Vijayan said that during the previous United Democratic Front (UDF) government, the total beneficiaries of social security pension were 34,43,414, who received a pension of Rs 600 per month. The Chief Minister said that currently 62 lakh people are being given social security pension in the state. The pension amount has also been increased to Rs 1,600 in a phased manner.
The government aims to increase it further. In this special statement of the Chief Minister, the central government and its financial policies and attitude towards the state have also been criticized. This decision of the Kerala government will provide relief to lakhs of people waiting for pension arrears and their demand will be fulfilled.
