Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini is on a tour of Gurugram and Delhi. Meanwhile, he met Yuzvendra Chahal, a member of the T20 cricket world champion team India, in Gurugram. CM Saini honored Chahal by giving him a medal and a memento. The Chief Minister discussed with Chahal about encouraging local youth in the field of cricket.
Team India won the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa in Barbados on 29 June. Yuzvendra Chahal, a resident of Haryana, was a part of the 15-member Indian team, due to which he was honored by Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini. Chahal's family was also present there during this time.
CM Naib Singh Saini wrote on Twitter, “I was a part of the world champion Indian cricket team in the T20 World Cup and met Haryana's son Yuzvendra Chahal. Yuzvendra Chahal has inspired countless youth across the country including Haryana towards cricket and congratulations and best wishes to him and the entire Indian team for this great victory.
Team India won the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa in Barbados on 29 June. India won that match against South Africa by 7 runs. India did not lose a single match in the tournament and ended the ICC trophy drought after 11 years. After winning the final match of the World Cup, all the players of the team including captain Rohit looked very emotional.
Rohit and Virat Kohli had tears in their eyes. The Indian team was given a grand welcome on reaching home. The team met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and then the team took part in the Vijay Parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where the team was felicitated by the BCCI.
