Pulses Production: The prices of food items are increasing in the country. Prices are usually high during the monsoon season. But now the good thing is that inflation will not bother people for long. Actually, there is good monsoon rain in the pulse producing areas, due to which the area under cultivation has increased and production is likely to increase.
According to the data, the area under cultivation of pulse products has increased by one and a half times compared to last year. That is, the production of pulses is likely to increase in the near future, while the supply of imported varieties of pulses is also starting from August, all these indications give hope that the prices of pulses may come down soon.
Cultivation area increased
According to data released by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, the area under cultivation of Adal Dal has increased by 46% to 5.37 lakh hectares so far in the season as compared to last year. Last year the area under cultivation was 3.67 lakh hectares. The National Cooperative Consumer Federation of India and the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India have also started pre-registration of groundnut farmers.
Government took steps to control prices
Earlier, the government took several steps to stabilize the prices of pulses. The government has imposed stock limits on tuvar and chana dal till September 30 to maintain the supply of various pulses in the market. Along with this, importers have been told that they cannot keep the imported stock for more than 45 days without customs clearance.
