Kanpur, July 11 (HS). If gardeners have not been able to prepare for garden planting in this rainy season, then they should not worry. Now choose such an area where there is no water logging, there is proper arrangement for water drainage and that area is connected to transport facilities. Keep in mind that there should not be any hard layer up to two meters in the area where plantation is to be done. This information was given by Dr. V.K. Tripathi, Head of the Department of Horticulture Science, Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur on Thursday.
He told that at this time in North India, gardens of mango, guava, lemon, wood apple, plum, pomegranate etc. can be planted. For mangoes like Dussehri, Langra, Chaunsa, at a distance of 8×8 meters and for Amrapali, Ambika and Mallika at a distance of 6×6 meters, for planting varieties like Lucknow 49, Allahabadi Safeda, Red Flash Spotted, Bedana, Lalit etc. of guava along with Ganesh Mridula, Ruby, lemon Kagzi, lemon Vikram seedless varieties along with Kinnu Mausami, pits are dug at a distance of 6×6 meters.
While digging a pit for garden planting, keep in mind that the upper half of the soil should be kept separately and the lower half of the soil separately. For filling the pit, treat 10 to 15 kg of rotten cow dung manure with Trichoderma and add 500 grams of neem ash, 50 grams of Azotobacter and 50 grams of PSB culture and fill the pit up to four to five inches above the ground.
He told the gardeners that after this, take the right plant according to the species from a nursery and plant it in the field to the same depth as it was in the nursery. Along with this, it is necessary to do light irrigation by giving support of some wood etc. After that, by removing the weeds with a hoe and controlling the cold in the coming season and later the heat and controlling the insects and diseases in time, you can get quality fruits from your garden for many years and also get economic benefits.
