After the only MLA of Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) Tenzing Norbu Lamtha joined the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), the number of opposition MLAs in the state has become zero. In this way, now the state of Sikkim has become opposition free. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has given this information on social media.
In a Facebook post, CM Tamang said, “I am very happy to meet Tenzing Norbu Lamtha, MLA of 23-Syari Assembly seat, at my official residence today. He has officially joined our SKM family.” Tamang acknowledged that Lamtha had raised concerns related to the interests of his constituency. He said that the problems of this constituency will now be solved as part of a comprehensive development plan.
Let us tell you that in the assembly elections held in Sikkim on 19 April this year, the results of which were declared on 2 June, SKM won 31 out of 32 seats. While the Sikkim Democratic Front, which was in power for 25 years, got one seat. Currently, SKM has 30 MLAs.
