Lucknow, July 10 (HS). Ravi Shankar performed brilliantly in the Digital Detox Weekend Chess Tournament and won the championship with the highest score of 7 points. In the two-day tournament organized by Chess Club Black and White (CCBW) at Charans Plaza, Ravi Shankar topped the competition after seven rounds. In the open category, Saeed Ahmed got second place with 6 points.
On the other hand, Samarth Gupta became the Under-16 Junior Champion by scoring 6.5 points. Samyak Sagar also scored 6.5 points, but on the basis of tie-break score, Samarth Gupta came first and Samyak Sagar came second. In the tournament organized to promote chess as a family game and to create awareness about staying away from screens, 84-year-old Kranti Kumar Gupta of Bareilly secured the first position in the Veteran above 60 years age group with the maximum of 4 points.
83-year-old RK Gupta of Jhansi finished second with 3.5 points. In this tournament, RK Gupta brought his team of students whom he himself trains at RNS World School, Jhansi. On the other hand, the father-son team of Ashish Kumar, Ishit and Ishaan won the Best Family Award while Gyan Argal, Shivansh and Saransh got the second best family award. The top two unrated players in the tournament were Nikhar Saxena and Shatrughan Rawat (4.5 points each).

Under 13:- 1st-3rd: Arjun Garg, Saksham Srivastava, and Tanish Kumar, 4 points each.
Under 16:- First: Ujjwal Raj Srivastava 5 points, Second: Saraansh Argal 3.5 points, Third: Kartikeya Chaturvedi 3 points.
