Mumbai Police has achieved a big success on Tuesday. The police has arrested Mihir Shah, the main accused in the Worli hit and run case. Mihir was absconding since the accident and the police had formed 14 teams to catch Mihir.
According to the police, Kaveri Nakhwa (45), a newbie from Worli Koliwada, was travelling with her husband Pradeep around 5.30 am on Sunday when Mihir Shah, a passenger in a BMW, allegedly hit the couple's two-wheeler. The woman was rushed to a hospital for treatment where doctors declared her dead. The accused fled after the accident. The accused fled leaving his car and driver Rajrishi Bidawat on the side seat near Kalanagar in Bandra. The police questioned more than a dozen people, including his accomplices, and formed several task forces to nab him. According to the police, the accused Mihir Shah is the son of Raj Shah, a member and leader of CM Eknath Shinde's party Shiv Sena.
Mihir spent 20 thousand rupees in one go
Another accused Rajrishi Bidawat, who was with Mihir, is in jail. According to reports, the accident happened just hours after Mihir spent 20 thousand rupees at a bar. It is also being claimed that Raj Shah asked driver Bidawat to take the blame and confess to the police that he (the driver) was driving the car at the time of the accident.
