Due to the sudden rain in Delhi, many areas were flooded and traffic jams occurred. When the rain took a break in Mumbai today, Mumbaikars heaved a sigh of relief.
The Public Works Department (PWD) in Delhi said it received 22 calls about waterlogging till noon, while there were three or four complaints of trees falling.
Delhi Traffic Police told X that the Azad Market underpass on the route from Azad Market to Shastri Nagar has been closed for traffic due to waterlogging.
After the weather department's warning of heavy rain, schools and colleges in Mumbai were declared closed today. Today Mumbai was cloudy but people heaved a sigh of relief as the rain stopped.
On the other hand, it rained in Goa for the fourth consecutive day. The administration has advised fishermen not to go into the sea. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Goa today.
Meanwhile, the flood situation in Assam still persists. Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi has alleged that the BJP's twin-engine governments at the Centre and the state have not found any solution to this perennial problem in the last eight years.
Uttarakhand has also been affected by floods caused by heavy rains. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas. Two national highways and more than 200 rural roads are closed due to landslides.
