London, July 10 (HS). Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner have been fierce rivals of each other. By September 2023, Medvedev had won all their six matches, but Sinner turned the tables in the next five matches. However, Medvedev once again made a comeback at Wimbledon and defeated Sinner to enter the semi-finals.
Medvedev appeared to stumble on Tuesday but then composed himself to win a thrilling five-set match 6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-3 to reach his second consecutive Wimbledon semi-final.
In the semi-finals, Medvedev will face defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, who beat American Tommy Paul 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2. “If you have to beat Sinner, it will be a tough match. He is no longer a player who can be easily beaten. I played at a high level, scored great points and I am happy,” Medvedev said after the match.
