Nowadays, the cases of joint pain are increasing among people. The problem of pain in knees, spine, neck, hip and pelvis has now become common. These problems were common with increasing age but now even younger people are getting affected by it.
There are many reasons for this, but the main reason is the deteriorating lifestyle of most of the youth, their wrong way of sitting and working and their distance from exercise. The situation is becoming so serious that now the youth have to undergo hip or knee replacement.
Do body stretching every 45 minutes
If the youth want to avoid these problems, then they should include body stretching and exercise every 45 minutes in their daily routine. This was said by experts at the Madhya Pradesh Arthroplasty Conference MAC-2024 organized in the city.
On the second and last day of the two-day conference organised by the MP chapter of the Indian Orthopaedic Association and the Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Indore, orthopaedic surgeons from across the country discussed the bone-related problems faced by the youth and their treatment.
currency deterioration problem
The result of this discussion was that the youth who have to work sitting in one place for hours should leave their chair and do body stretching every 45 minutes. Due to sitting and working for long hours, the youth is facing the problem of bad posture. Due to this, back and neck pain also starts.
Live Knee Replacement Surgery
This happens due to muscle weakness. Along with educational sessions, live surgery was also organised in this conference. In the conference organised on the theme of Ni-360 degree, knee replacement specialist Umesh Mahajan from Nagpur performed live surgery with the help of Wells Robotics.
With the help of this surgery, he gave a demo of perfect robotic surgery to orthopedic doctors across the country. He said that the biggest benefit of robotic surgery is to the patient. It greatly increases accuracy and brings perfection. The alignment of the implant improves, which increases its life considerably.
If there is a defect in any part of the knee, the entire joint is not replaced
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Vinay Tantuve said that a live demonstration of partial knee replacement surgery was done on the second day of the conference. In this type of surgery, instead of replacing the entire knee joint, the damaged tissue and bone are removed. An artificial joint made of metal or plastic is put in its place. This procedure is used when there is a problem in any part of the knee. Indian Orthopedic Association MP Chapter President Dr. Saket Jati said that in the conference, experts pledged to support the campaign by deciding to plant trees worth Rs 51 lakh.
Patients who have undergone knee replacement should keep these things in mind
Exercise regularly for 10 minutes and try not to sit still.
To keep bones strong, consume calcium and Vitamin D.
Avoid going to places where there is a risk of falling or slipping.
The risk of infection is highest after surgery
Coimbatore orthopedic consultant Dr Dhanasekar Raja said that the biggest risk after knee replacement surgery is infection. For this, pre-operative screening is very important and prompt treatment is started according to the results of this screening.
Even after this, if a patient gets an infection, it is very important to identify it early because if the infection becomes chronic, then treatment becomes challenging. Dr. Neeraj Adkar, who came from Pune, said that robotic surgery is now being used not only in joint replacement but it is also proving to be helpful in ligament surgery and fracture surgery.
