After PM Modi raised the issue, Indians working in the Russian army will return home


Moscow, July 10 (HS). After the issue was raised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Moscow has agreed to stop the recruitment of Indian citizens working in the Russian army along with opening the way for their safe return to their homeland. Russia has agreed to India's demand. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had raised this issue prominently during his informal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said the Russian side promised to expedite the retirement of all Indian citizens from the Russian army
He said, Prime Minister Modi strongly raised the issue of early discharge of those Indian citizens who have been misled and recruited in the Russian army. The Prime Minister raised this issue strongly and the Russian side promised to discharge all Indian citizens soon. Kwatra said that both sides will work on how quickly the Indians can be brought back to the country. In response to a question, Kwatra said that India estimates that the number of its citizens serving in the Russian army will be around 35 to 50, out of which 10 have already been brought back.
