Hisar, July 9 (HS). The prevalence and diversity of zoonosis diseases that are caused and spread through animals or insects is one of the major health challenges not only in India but also in many parts of the world. Public awareness, health education and effective vaccination programs are necessary for their prevention and control.
Under this effort, World Zoonosis Day is celebrated every year on 6 July with the aim of increasing information and awareness among people about zoonotic diseases.
In this regard, under the guidance of Vice Chancellor of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Prof. Dr. Vinod Kumar Verma, with the help of Head of Department Dr. Rajesh Khurana and Dr. Rajesh Chhabra, scientists Dr. Vijay Jadhav, Dr. Jeenu Manoj and Dr. Vinay Chahal gave information as part of the awareness campaign at the Government Girls School in Talwandi Rukka village of the district on Tuesday. On this occasion, experts made the children aware of zoonosis disease. They said that those diseases come under the category of zoonosis diseases, which spread from animals to humans. Talking about the main reasons for the spread of these diseases, these diseases spread due to direct contact with animals, contaminated water and food and insect bites like mosquitoes or ticks. There are many types of zoonosis diseases which spread due to viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. Experts also held a question-answer session after the lecture in which the students enthusiastically asked questions. The school administration thanked the scientists for the efforts made by LUVAS scientists under this awareness campaign.
