Jind, July 9 (HS). On Tuesday afternoon, on the call of Haryana Roadways Employees Union Front, roadways employees demonstrated at the bus stand on Tuesday. Employee leaders said that despite their protest, the department issued the permits.
Senior members of Sanjha Morcha, Azad Gill, Anoop Lathar, Sandeep Ranga, Kuldeep Mor, Sushil Ikkas, Sajjan Kandela, Rajbir Malik, Rajendra Solanki, Balkar Redhu, Rajesh, Anil Gautam and many other employees gathered at the bus stand and protested against the transport department by raising slogans. On Wednesday, the employee unions are scheduled to meet with the director of the transport department. Therefore, the Morcha, while trying to put pressure on the government, warned that if the government does not have a positive attitude towards their demands in the meeting, then there will be a big movement. Azad Gill and Sandeep Ranga said that the general public demanded roadways buses from the government and the department through panchayats and signature campaigns. Complaints are constantly coming from women, elderly and girl students about private buses.
Their demand is that the private permit policy should be withdrawn immediately. Employee leader Anoop Lathar said that the department suddenly issued 3658 permits on 362 routes across the state late in the evening. Out of which 272 permits are from Jind district. Roadways unions were opposing this. Their demand is that these permits should be cancelled and new roadways buses should be added to the fleet and permanent recruitment should be done so that the youth can get employment. Anoop Lathar said that the government is providing the facility of Happy Card and free and concessional travel to 42 categories. The general public will get the benefit of these schemes only when there are sufficient buses in the roadways fleet. On July 14, employees from across the state will surround the residence of Transport Minister Aseem Goyal in Ambala.
