LPG Gas Cylinder: Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have implemented eKYC for LPG customers. After e-KYC became mandatory, long queues of customers are being seen at gas agencies. Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly VD Satheesa has written a letter regarding the problems being faced by the customers.
Satishan had written a letter to Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri requesting that the problems being faced by customers be resolved. Now the Union Minister has responded to Satishan's letter.
There is no time limit
Hardeep Singh Puri has given a big relief to LPG customers. Hardeep Singh Puri responded to Satish's letter on the social media platform X. Puri said that oil marketing companies have implemented eKYC to eliminate fake accounts and crack down on fake booking of commercial gas cylinders.
The process of eKYC has been going on for more than eight months. Puri clearly said that there is no time limit for completing eKYC. This means that customers do not need to worry about eKYC. Puri said that the purpose of the eKYC campaign is that only genuine customers get LPG service.
You can also do EKYC like this
Hardeep Singh Puri said that customers do not need to go to the gas agency to get eKYC done. They can easily get eKYC done sitting at home. Customers can also get eKYC done through the gas agency employee.
- While delivering LPG cylinders, gas agency staff will obtain Aadhaar credentials through the mobile app.
- After receiving the Aadhaar credentials, an OTP will be sent to the customer's registered mobile number.
- After entering the OTP, eKYC will be completed.
Apart from this, customers can also do KYC themselves through the apps of oil marketing companies.
