New Delhi, July 9 (HS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Putin set the target of further strengthening economic relations and increasing mutual trade to $ 100 billion by the year 2030 in the 22nd bilateral talks.
The two countries also discussed the Chennai Valdivistak sea corridor to enhance connectivity. The two leaders also decided to take forward the India Eurasian Economic Union trade agreement.
During the summit, both the countries accepted 9 documents of cooperation. These include agreements on cooperation in Russia's Far East and polar research. Both sides also signed agreements on promoting pharmaceutical trade as well as cooperation between business organizations. Giving information about the talks between the two countries, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra said that Modi expressed his concern to Russian President Putin about the death of children in the air strike in Ukraine's capital Kiev. Modi called it a heart-breaking incident. The Foreign Secretary said that the Prime Minister drew Putin's attention to some Indians employed in the Russian army and stressed on releasing them from service and sending them to India. End
