Tuesday's trading session proved to be very auspicious for the Indian stock market. Both the Sensex and Nifty indices managed to touch the top. The Sensex reached a new high of 80,397.17 points, while the Nifty also reached an all-time high of 24,443.60 points.
Buying in auto, FMCG and consumer durables sector stocks has seen a great greenback in the market. After the initial decline in today's session, buying was also seen in midcap and small stocks. The BSE Sensex rose 391.26 points to close at 80,351 points and the National Stock Exchange's Nifty rose 112.65 points to close at 24,433.20 points.
How much did the market capitalization of BSE increase?
The market cap of BSE is Rs. 451.97 lakh crore and thus the mcap is Rs. 452 lakh crore. A total of 3267 stocks are being traded on BSE, out of which 2070 stocks are up. 1065 stocks are trading lower while 132 stocks are unchanged. 145 stocks have hit upper circuit and 57 stocks have hit lower circuit. There are 194 stocks which are at their 52-week highs and 12 stocks which are at their lowest levels of the same period.

The upward trend in railway shares continues and today also RVNL is trading with a gain of 7.34 per cent and IRFC with a gain of 3 per cent. Due to the continuous rise in railway shares, a lot of buying is being seen in railway shares.
