Hemant Soren land scam case: ED has approached the Supreme Court against the bail of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The Central Enforcement Directorate has termed the High Court order as illegal. Along with this, ED said that whatever comment the High Court has made is wrong. On the other hand, the central agency demanded an early hearing on the petition in the court.
Bail against PMLA Act: Central agency
ED has approached the Supreme Court regarding the bail of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. In that, the Central Enforcement Directorate had challenged the order of the High Court. In which the Enforcement Directorate filed an SLP application saying that the order given by the High Court is illegal. There are many flaws and omissions in the process of the order passed by the High Court and it needs to be heard soon. In which the central agency said that the bail has been granted under the PMLA Act.
Served as Chief Minister of Jharkhand after bail
After getting bail following the High Court order, Hemant Soren again became the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Apart from this, he got the trust vote in the assembly on Monday. In which 45 MLAs supported him. Along with this, after the cabinet expansion, the MLAs were sworn in as ministers.
ED arrested Hemant Soren after 7 hours of questioning
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was granted bail by the court last Friday in a case pending in the High Court regarding the alleged land scam. Justice R. Mukhopadhyay's court granted him regular bail. The ED arrested Hemant Soren on January 31 after 7 hours of interrogation. After this case, Champai Soren was made the Chief Minister of the state after Hemant Soren resigned.
