Abuja, July 9 (HS). Nigeria's women's football team has begun training camp preparations for the upcoming Paris Olympics. According to Xinhua, the team known as the Super Falcons opened their training camp in Jerez de la Frontera, near Seville.
According to Nigeria Football Federation spokesman Ademola Olajire, 12 of the 18 players had arrived by Monday morning.
Key players including captain Rasheedat Ajibade and first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Ndozi are already in camp.
Olajire said the Super Falcons began training “with a lot of enthusiasm”. The Super Falcons last participated in the Olympics 16 years ago at the Beijing Games. The African champions have been placed in Group C along with Spain, Brazil and Japan for the Paris Olympic tournament.
