CWC is the legal guardian of children in difficult circumstances: Tanushree

Khunti, July 8 (HS). A meeting was organized in the auditorium located at DRDA on Monday by the District Social Welfare Branch, District Child Protection Unit in collaboration with Child in Need Institute (CINI) regarding the formation of Care Leavers Network under Jharkhand After Care Guidelines 2023. The meeting was chaired by District Social Welfare Officer Suman Singh. In the meeting, the Welfare Officer gave information about the objectives of the meeting and said that the Care Leavers Network will be a means of staying connected with each other and the problems of the Care Leavers will be heard and those problems will be resolved. He said that this is a preliminary meeting regarding the formation of the network. Care Leavers must tell their Mann Ki Baat, so that the government can work to give them a better life. It is noteworthy that Khunti is the first district in Jharkhand where a meeting was organized to form a network by gathering the Care Leavers.

In the meeting, District Child Protection Officer Mo Altaf Khan informed about the guidelines issued by the government regarding care leavers and said that under Mission Vatsalya, guidelines have been issued by the Government of India and the Government of Jharkhand, under which a database of care leavers is to be prepared. The network is to be formed for social cooperation and such people have to be given need based care. A proposal is being given to the government for the training of care leavers. While discussing after care, Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Tanushree Sarkar said that CWC is the legal guardian of children in difficult circumstances. With their protection and orders, the child goes to a child care institution or is sent to his family from there. Shilpa Jaiswal of CINI gave detailed information on the concept, formation process and work of the Care Leavers Network. Care leavers shared their experiences and expectations.

He also urged the officials to organize computer education, skill and sports training. A care leaver from Khunti district who is working in Uttarakhand joined the meeting online and inspired the care leavers by sharing her experiences and challenges. During this, she said that do not let your dreams die, work hard till you achieve your goal. Today, with her hard work, she is working as a nurse in a reputed hospital in Dehradun. At the end of the meeting, Protection Officer (Institutional Care) Mo Shamimuddin Ansari gave a vote of thanks. CWC members Mo Shahjahan, Maryam Aind, Ashok Nag, Protection Officer (Non-Institutional) Shivaji Prasad, Seeni's Kumar Saurabh, Ajit Kumar, Rani Tooti, ​​Ramlal Munda, Anandini, etc. were present in the meeting.
