Imphal, July 08 (HS). MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi met Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Monday. State Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi and Security Advisor Kuldeep Singh were present during this meeting. Congress leaders Okram Ibobi Singh, Kesham Meghchandra and Gaikhangam were also present with Rahul Gandhi in this meeting.
During his visit today, Rahul Gandhi visited the relief camps at Jiribam Higher Secondary School, Phubala in Moirang and Tuibong village in Churachandpur district. During this visit, he interacted with the people living in the camps affected by ethnic violence. During this, he also met the flood-affected people in Imphal.
It is noteworthy that this morning Rahul Gandhi landed at Kumbhirgram Airport in Silchar by a special plane from New Delhi. From there he reached Jiribam in Manipur by road. On the way, he visited the flood relief camp at Lakhipur Phulratal in Cachar district. From Jiribam, Rahul Gandhi reached Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal by a special plane.
The Bharatiya Janata Party raised questions on Rahul Gandhi's visit to Manipur and said that Rahul Gandhi has been doing politics on the situation in Manipur since the beginning. The BJP alleged that seriousness cannot be expected from Rahul Gandhi.
