Truck loaded with illegal coal seized, FIR lodged against 4 smugglers


Ramgarh, July 8 (HS). The police has once again taken strict action against illegal coal traders. Illegal coal was being loaded at the Bangla brick kiln in Saraiya village of Ramgarh police station area in the dark of night. Based on secret information, the police reached there and seized that truck. However, during this time the smugglers managed to escape from there. The police is now conducting raids to arrest the smugglers. An FIR has been registered in this case on the statement of Ramgarh police station in-charge Ajay Kumar Sahu. He has said that during patrolling after midnight, he got information that a 10-wheeled truck is present at the Bangla brick kiln of Pradeep Mahato of Saraiya, on which illegal coal is being loaded. When the police reached there, the smugglers ran away after seeing the police lights. During investigation, it was found that about 10 tonnes of illegal coal was loaded on BR 02 K 9073.

Case registered against 4 smugglers
Ramgarh police station in-charge Ajay Kumar Sahu has named four people as accused in the case of illegal coal smuggling. These include Pradeep Mahato, Pawan Mahato, Naresh Mahato, resident of Saraiya village and Rakesh Dubey, resident of Barkakana. An FIR has been registered against these people under the Indian Justice Code and the Indian Forest Act. Police said that the truck owner and driver are also involved in this illegal smuggling.

Coal excavated from forest area and stored in brick kiln
Ramgarh police station in-charge Ajay Kumar Sahu said that during the investigation it was found that illegal excavation of coal was done from plot number 553 of the forest authority area on the banks of the Damodar river in Saraiya village. From there, the coal was brought to the brick kiln through laborers and stored there. That stored coal was loaded on a truck for smuggling. This entire business runs under the supervision of Pradeep Mahato, Pawan Mahato and Naresh Mahato.
