Amarnath Yatra gets green signal as soon as rain stops, know what will be the weather like in Jammu and Kashmir?

The Amarnath Yatra has been stopped due to heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir. After the heavy rains yesterday, the weather has changed today. The Amarnath Yatra has been started amidst the dark clouds in the sky. Another batch of pilgrims has left for the Amarnath Yatra amidst tight security arrangements.

Heavy rain was seen in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir including Pahalgam yesterday. The Meteorological Department had issued an alert regarding rain. In such a situation, the Amarnath Yatra was also stopped for some time. Actually, due to heavy rain, Chandrakot Road in Pahalgam remained blocked for several hours. Therefore, the pilgrims were stopped at Pantha Chowk base camp. After the rain stopped today, the pilgrims staying at Pantha Chowk base camp have been sent to Baltal and Pahalgam.

Army personnel are deployed at every nook and corner to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. Many vehicles of security forces are also present along with the bus of pilgrims. However, dark clouds are still looming in the sky. The Srinagar-based centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain with thunder and lightning at many places in Jammu and Kashmir. According to IMD data, there is a possibility of rain and storm in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir from July 8 to 10. Light to moderate rain is expected in the state from July 11 to 13.

Amid the changing weather in Jammu and Kashmir, the faith of the devotees is increasing. Within just 8 days of the start of the Yatra, more than 1.5 lakh people have visited Baba Barfani. Let us tell you that till the Yatra stopped, 1.59 lakh devotees have paid obeisance in the holy cave. Another batch of Amarnath pilgrims has left today. This Yatra will continue till July 19.
