Jharkhand Cabinet Expansion: Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has proved majority for his third term. 45 votes were cast in his favor in the assembly. Now he will expand the cabinet in his third term. Meanwhile, speculations have also started about which ministers will get a place in Hemant Soren's cabinet.
On Sunday, a meeting of the ruling party MLAs was held under the chairmanship of CM Hemant Soren. In this meeting, there was a discussion about the special session of the Assembly on Monday and the next strategy was made. After being released on bail in the land scam case, Hemant Soren has become the Chief Minister of the state for the third time and he took oath on Thursday.
Though he was asked to take oath of ministers with him on that day, Hemant Soren later took oath as CM alone. Champai Soren had resigned from the post of CM and Hemant Soren was unanimously elected as the leader of the Grand Alliance.
Hemant Soren will have no difficulty in getting the trust vote
CM Hemant Soren will first present a proposal to get a vote of confidence in the assembly on Monday. Political pundits say that Hemant Soren will have no problem in getting a vote of confidence because the Mahagathbandhan has sufficient numbers. At present, the total number of MLAs in Jharkhand is 76. Hemant Soren will need 39 MLAs to get a vote of confidence in the assembly. Hemant Soren's party has 44 MLAs. The MLAs submitted a letter of support for Hemant Soren to the Governor.
These people can be made ministers
After getting the trust vote in the assembly, the cabinet will be expanded in the Raj Bhavan. The MLAs who will be made ministers will be administered the oath of office by the Governor. MLA Irfan Ansari from the Congress quota can be made a minister. Along with this, there is speculation about including CM's wife Kalpana Soren in the cabinet.
After the tender scam, Congress quota minister Alamgir resigned. This has increased the number of ministers from Congress quota by only three. Meanwhile, there are speculations that Irfan Ansari can be made a minister. Since he is the only minority face of Congress.
Kalpana Soren, Basant Soren, Hafizul Ansari, Mithilesh Thakur, Baby Devi and Deepak Birua are likely to be included in the cabinet from JMM's quota. To achieve gender equality before the assembly elections, Baidyanath Ram of Scheduled Caste can also be made a minister. Apart from this, RJD MLA Satyanand Bhokta can also be included in the cabinet.
