Dharamshala, 07 July (HS). Himachal players are being provided incentives on the lines of Punjab and Haryana so that players can get an opportunity to progress. Youth Services, Sports and AYUSH Minister Yadavindra Goma expressed these sentiments on Sunday as the chief guest on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the 16th state level Himachal Pradesh men and women category Equipped State Power Lifting, Bench Press and Deadlift Championship of sub junior, junior, senior and masters at Om Palace located at 42 mile in Rait, Shahpur.
He said that a proposal will be sent to bring Chambi sports ground of Rait under Khelo India so that the players can get proper facilities in this ground. Currently, Rs 51 lakh is being spent on this sports ground and funds will also be provided by the state government to provide other facilities.
He said that he will try to organize power lifting competition in Kangra district in the coming time. International level competition should be organized. In the three day competition, 250 men and women from all over the state participated in Scott, Bench Press and Deadlifting competitions. Power Lifting Association honored the chief guest by giving him a memento.
Kangra's team was the champion, Solan was in second place
In the team championship, Kangra came first, Solan second and Bilaspur third. Kapil Yadav of Solan was awarded the title of Strong Man while Avantika of Kangra was awarded the title of Strong Woman. In 43 kg sub junior women, Riya of Kangra came first, Akriti Rana second and Smriti came third.
Muskan Negi of Shimla secured first place in the 52 kg junior women category and Pooja of Kangra secured first place in the 57 kg category. In the 63 kg women category, Prachi of Kangra secured first place, Rashi second while Palak Chaudhary secured third place. Kalpana Jaswal of Kangra secured first place in the 69 kg women category.
In the 93 kg senior men's category, Vikram of Solan stood first and Deepak of Bilaspur stood second. In the 105 kg men's category, Lalit Jaggi of Solan stood first and Aman Thakur of Solan stood second. In the 120 kg men's category, Ajay Verma of Kangra stood first. In the 83 kg master-1, Vipin Jambal of Bilaspur stood first. In the sub-junior 59 kg men's category, Aditya Awasthi of Shimla stood first, Prajal Sharma of Kangra stood second while Arnav Agarwal of Shimla stood third.
