Gurugram, July 7 (HS). Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda said in a thank you worker conference here on Sunday that Gurugram will again become a global city under the Congress government. If the Congress government is formed, the metro will be extended to Manesar. Along with this, the Congress government will also implement the much-awaited Gurugram-Faridabad metro line.
He said that it was Congress that did the historic work of bringing Delhi Metro to Gurugram, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh and Bahadurgarh. After that, in 10 years of BJP, the Metro did not move even an inch forward. The Gurugram that Congress was developing as a global city has been reduced to heaps of garbage, traffic and sewerage jams by BJP. Bhupendra Singh Hooda said that today crime is so out of control that no class, including businessmen, feels safe. Therefore, new industries and institutions have stopped coming to Gurugram, which used to be the first choice of investors. During the Congress tenure, 70 percent of Japan's investment was in Gurugram and Manesar. But today, even the already established industries are migrating from here and companies are laying off workers and employees. By doing events like Happening Haryana, BJP had once claimed that an investment of five and a half lakh crores would come, but not even Rs 5 thousand crores of investment could come.
In his address, state president Udaybhan gave the slogan of 'Aaram Haram Hai' to the workers and instructed them to strengthen each booth. He said that though Congress lost the election in Gurugram, everyone believes that Congress fought the election in a strong manner. If party candidate Raj Babbar had got the ticket a little earlier and he had got a little more time for election campaign, then this time Congress' victory was certain. The results of Lok Sabha have made it clear that the coming time belongs to Congress.
On this occasion, many senior leaders including Congress candidate from Gurugram Raj Babbar, acting state president Jitendra Bhardwaj and deputy leader of Congress in the assembly Aftab Ahmed were present. Jitendra Bhardwaj, who was managing the stage, proposed in the conference that whichever leader the party gives ticket to in the assembly elections, everyone will support him unitedly. The workers supported this proposal by raising both hands.
