A tragic incident has happened in Surat, Gujarat. A five-storey building collapsed in Sachin area of Surat. Many people got buried under the rubble of this five-storey building. Seven people have died in this accident. The bodies of these seven people have been recovered. It is feared that many people are buried under the rubble of the building. Information has come to light that the building that collapsed in Surat was eight years old. This building was built in 2017. In such a situation, the question is whether the right construction material has not been used in the construction of the multi-storey building. It has been learned that six families live in this building. The area of Surat where this incident took place comes under the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC).
There is also news that many people have been injured due to the collapse of the building. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. After receiving information about the building collapse, police and fire brigade teams reached the spot and started rescue work. Rescue operation is being carried out to take out the people buried under the debris. The reason for the collapse of the building is not yet clear. It is being said that this building collapsed due to heavy rain.
Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot said that after receiving information about the building collapse, relief work has been started. Relief and rescue work is being done to remove people trapped under the debris. The NDRF team is working hard. The building was constructed in 2017-18. Due to its dilapidated condition, Surat Municipal Corporation had also ordered to vacate it. Most of the people living in the building had vacated it but 5 to 6 families were still living there.
