Bhopal, July 6 (HS). The Congress party has filed a petition with the Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar to terminate the membership of two MLAs Ramniwas Rawat and Nirmala Sapre who have joined the BJP from the Congress. After this, now according to a decision of the Supreme Court given in 2019, the Assembly Speaker will have to take a decision on the matter of membership within three months.
It is noteworthy that during the Lok Sabha elections, Congress MLA from Vijaypur Ramniwas Rawat and MLA from Bina Nirmala Sapre had joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Congress had not yet lodged any complaint against these two MLAs regarding their membership from the Vidhan Sabha.
On Friday, on the last day of the monsoon session of the Assembly, Congress Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, Deputy Leader of Opposition Hemant Katare, MLAs Lakhan Ghanghoria, Sachin Yadav, Rajneesh Harvansh Singh, Fundelal Marko and others met Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar and filed a petition.
