Gandhinagar, 7 July (HS). On the occasion of the 102nd International Cooperative Day, a program 'Sahkar se Samriddhi' was organized in Gandhinagar on Saturday under the chairmanship of Union Home and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah. Cooperative leaders from across the country including Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister of State for Cooperation Muralidhar Mohol and Gujarat Minister of State for Cooperation Jagdish Vishwakarma were present in this program.
Calling for building a developed India by the year 2047 by making the cooperative sector the strongest pillar of the country's economy, Union Cooperative Minister Amit Shah said that the cooperative sector is linked with the lives of crores of Indians, which will bring a big change in the lives of citizens.
Appreciating the decision of the Gujarat Government, the Union Cooperation Minister said that under the strong leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Gujarat Government has taken an important decision to provide a special assistance of 50 percent to the farmers on the purchase of Nano Urea and Nano DAP. The use of Nano Urea and Nano DAP (liquid) in place of conventional urea will reduce the consumption of urea, which will significantly improve the quality of crops and land as well as human health. He explained in detail the benefits of using Nano Urea and requested every farmer of the state to try to use Nano Urea.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said on this occasion that the theme of International Cooperative Day is 'Cooperatives create a better future for all'. Many dimensions of economic empowerment of primary cooperative societies and making the cooperative sector equipped with latest technology have been successful across the country. PACS and cooperative societies have been operated up to the Gram Panchayat level. About 93 thousand PACS centers have been developed as multipurpose service centers with digital technology.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while mentioning the features of the cooperative sector in Gujarat, said that more than 2 crore 30 lakh members of more than 83 thousand mandals are working with the spirit of 'same purpose, same interest and same goal' through cooperation. He also said that cooperative institutions in the state are now contributing to the service works ranging from medical colleges to building the future of students.
He said that more than 400 natural farming cooperative circles are running in the state to develop natural farming on cooperative basis.
Gujarat's Minister of State for Cooperation Jagdish Vishwakarma said that PACS are being operated as Common Service Centres to provide various services at the village level. Model bylaws have been implemented in more than 9400 PACS mandals of Gujarat.
He said that with the aim of doing everything online and with transparency in cooperative institutions, 3600 gram panchayats have been covered with PACS services in the state in the last one year. The state government is determined to realize the dream of these two sons of Gujarat for the development of the cooperative sector in Gujarat under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel.
In his welcome address, IFFCO and GujComsol Chairman Dilip Sanghani said that today the establishment of the Ministry of Cooperatives has completed three years. International Cooperative Day is being celebrated since 1923. It is celebrated every year on the first Saturday of July. This year its 102nd edition is being celebrated, the theme of which has been kept as 'Cooperatives create a better future for all'.
The first organic store of Amul was virtually inaugurated in Delhi by Union Cooperative Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, among other dignitaries. Apart from this, 'Nano Urea Kit' was also provided to the farmers associated with the cooperative and 'Bharat Organic Atta' of National Co-operative Organics Limited was also launched. Gujarat Urban Co-operative Bank Federation President Jyotindra Mehta expressed his gratitude.
